For a thousand years the Alliance of the Civilized Races has stood the test of time. Kingdoms and Empires have come and gone, but the Alliance has endured. Yet, as with all things, it has grown old. With that age comes decay and senility. Too much these days the Alliance bickers among its own, and treats outsiders with contempt at best. What began as a grand experiment in cooperation and mutual defense has become just another exclusive club trying to force its own way on the world...

None feel this more keenly than the 'monstrous' races. These ancient enemies of the Alliance have been pushed to the margins of the world and trapped there by its mighty armies.

Now though, with the Alliance riven by internal strife and deadlocked by power politics their vigil on the hinterlands grows lax... Those they have oppressed look at the future, and each heart beats to the same thought: "NEVER AGAIN!"...

In notes like this one at the end of the current chapter each author will lay out your most obvious options, but don't feel limited to those, sometimes obvious is not the same as BEST, in fact OFTEN obvious is not the same as best.

You probably will want to favorite the story, because it will only update a few times a week, and sometimes not even that much: I will update only when we both have at least 3 comments on the current chapter AND I feel I have something worth writing for the next chapter.
