A night out

Tim lounged around his couch flipping channels on the Tv without really watching anything. Just chewing up time as he often did at this time of the day.

Outside the sun was going down and soo he could indulge himself in his preffered past time.

Tim liked to walk before bed. He worked all day in an office with little or no view of the outside world, so he liked to take a walk at night to tire out his body a bit.

The night air always smelt fresher to him and, as he was a bit of a nerd and spent to much time in front of a computer, sun light was always just a little to bright for him.

Outside the last few ray of sunlight were bathing the streets and houses in an orange glow broken with many long shadows.

Now seemed like a good idea, though Tim.

Getting up he pulled on his dark coloured jacket, grabbed his keys and headed out into the night.

Outside the air was cool and growing cooler by the minute. Tim was glad for his coats lining and zipped it up to keep warm.

At the end of his drive way he flipped a mental coin and turned left. Normally he went right, but tonight he though he'd go a different way.

He hadn't really realized it but with his dark coat and black pants he was little more than a shadow slipping away down the street. Indeed because he has a natural habit of walking softly, he would be more than a little easy to miss on a night like this.

No moon shone out tonight, and indeed with the patchy cloud cover, few stars shone in the sky either.

Tim smiled to himself. He liked these lone strolls about town. Around him houses were still lit with the activities of families going about their nightly tasks.

Just as he was passing a smallish house a light came on in a window at the front....
