A lone outpost sits on the desolate surface of Despina. The home of station commander Maxeus Lomari and the mechanic Arica Mamewi. Of course Maxeus never uses his title. "A commander of what? A pile of rubble?" he always says when someone asks him. Which most of the time is his best friend/colleague/occassional fuck buddy Arica.

Despina was once a lively place, back then when one of the new 'Boundless Space' probes of the United Nations Space Agency, short UNSA, just vanished close to Despina. Over 7 Years later they got a signal again - from another star system. From the data the probe gathered it seemed like there was something connecting the solar system of earth with the newly found one. A jump point. Or how it got dubbed in this case: A gravity cavity.

Yeah, that name sadly stuck. For over one hundred years Despina was one of the most important places in the human world. But then the cavity started shrinking and soon enough was too tight to let the biggest vehicles through. By this time other cavities had been found and Despina slowly fell from its former glory. By now it is only this little repair and refuel station manned by Maxeus and Arica and a tiny cavity only big enough for the smallest of ships that is left. But these two made it their home. Saved every bit of money they got out of their job to buy the station from the company that owned it. And now they are free. Or at least they think so. As free as a working class human without his own ship can be in this world.

Maxeus sit's in the common room of this little rusty piece of metal he calls home. For the past few hours Arica has locked herself into the workshop and would neither tell him what she is doing in there nor would she let him come in. She has been his best friend for the past decade now, for almost the complete time they were assigned here together. With the situation of Despina's cavity getting even worse their workload decreased in the same pace. They spent days and nights joking, talking, bonding over their love for space and the ships that by now can reach the stars. And even before that they started fucking. It was a great stress relief, considering that this little station has barely any recreational facilities and visits from the outside are exceedingly rare by now. Once per quarter they get a freighter for restocking and refuelling. And every now and then a ship uses their services. But that's it. Most of the time the two are alone.

After hours of waiting she finally leaves the workshop. Her copper colored hair falling in long strands right down to her shapely butt. A grav-stim pack that allows for limited hovering, an ability that comes in handy when she needs to repair ships from the inside with no good way of reaching higher up places. Or to keep her grounded when she has to go into low gravity zones. Either way it helps her move around.

But this time it looks different and before Maxeus can figure it out 2 'wings' pop out of the side of it. His eyes grow considerably as he sees them, fascinated by her ingenuity and her beautiful backview alike. She lifts a few cm from the ground and her wings start moving, making it look like they would actually lift her off. While moving it becomes clear they are of a certain pearlescent quality, constantly shifting between green and purple hues.

"Look at me. I am a fucking FAIRY now" Arica says laughing while spinning around and towards Maxeus. A few moments later she lands on his lap, her toned legs on each of his sides. He can't get a sentence out, but he smiles as he just sees the pure happiness in her face.

"Ever seen such a graceful fairy?" she asks him with a big grin on her face before diving in for a kiss. He isn't surprised about that, she usually gets pretty horny when tinkering around. He never questioned it though, it gave him plenty of memorable hours of fun.
