Yesterday, Richard and Rikki Young had both woken up to hear their mom arguing with someone whose voice they didn't recognize. They had silently talked it over via their telepathic bond, deciding it was best to stay where they were for now.

Eventually, Mom had angrily called them downstairs. When they arrived in the living room, they found a bald man in a wheelchair (probably around fifty years old they guessed), and a younger man and woman, both around 30, standing near him. Their mom was also standing, arms crossed, glaring at her "guests".

"Hello!" the old man said. "My name is Professor Charles Xavier, and these are some of my staff, Scott Summers and Jean Grey. You might have heard of me. I run a school in upstate New York for unique individuals. I'm glad to have the chance to meet the two of you."

"The professor here seems to think that the two of you are secretly fuckin' muties" their mom snarled. "Just set him straight so that we can get these freaks out of our house."

Instead, the two hung their heads. They'd figured that this would happen eventually.

"No..." Mom said, with hatred dripping from her voice. "Do not tell me that I birthed two abominations!"

Rikki spoke up first. "We knew that you would react badly if you knew..."

"...so we kept it to ourselves." Richard finished.

Mom's face was almost unrecognizable due to her fury. "GET OUT!" she screamed. "Freaks of nature do not live in this house! You are not my children!"

Now, after a day of traveling, they arrived at the mansion-turned-private-school.
