"Please write down one outrageous thing that you want and one more reasonable thing. We'll do our best on the first one, but no promises."

Anna took the notepad from Jack and quickly scribbled down her wishes. This was something she'd thought about for the last five years when she realized she was going to make the milestone. Many of the employees either retired or used the company as a steppingstone in their careers before hitting 20 years so it was a big deal when someone did. "Interesting," Jack said reading the notepad, "I'm not sure if this is possible, but I will see what I can do."

"What did he say?" Kira asked when Anna walked into her office.

"He isn't going to reverse the decision and anyone who wants to leave can." Anna said trying to hold back tears.

"Hey, don't cry." Kira said embracing Anna in a hug. "This isn't your fault; Jack and the board had all the power to not grant your request and they aren't forcing people to come in."

This was supposed to be a fun holiday, not something that would make people quit.
