Janno sighed as he trudged up the stairs into his room at the Wild Gryffin Inn in the town of Woodhaven.

It has been nearly a week since the rest of his party had perished in battling that nasty ogre gang that had been attacking the outskirts of town. Even though he was the most inexperienced member of the group, the fighter somehow was the lone survivor from the battle.

He was lucky because the ogres viewed the other fighters in the group as more of a threat than him. So both sides lost members until it was just the lead ogre against him and his best friend Rocko the barbarian. Fittingly, the battle ended when he slayed the ogre with a one last sword thrust...but not before he swung his massive club one final time, smashing Rocko in the face and killing the fierce barbarian.

Now Janno was now forced to look for a new adventuring group. Since Woodhaven was somewhat of a small town, there weren't too many possibilities. Janno had decided that he better start from scratch and build a party for further quests rather than join one himself. This time, he told himself, we aren't going to have just fighters in this group. We need some wizards, a healer and even rogues. A more complete team would better be able to handle on the dangers thrown their way.

He posted a sign on the town billboard, but no one had come knocking since he did so a few days ago. Janno was seriously considering joining a caravan and going to a larger town as he entered his room and closed the door.

But no sooner did he sit down and grabbed his sword and whetstone, there was a knocking on his door. "Only open the door if you are interested in joining an adventuring group," Janno called out.
