“No! This can’t be how it’s supposed to end!” you scream bitterly in your head as the sounds of battle begin to die off around around you.

What should have been a routine dungeon raid has spiraled into a full-blown disaster, leaving you and the lucky half of your party sprawled across the cold dungeon floor - barely conscious, but alive. The lifeless bodies of the other half that weren’t so lucky litter the area, a constant, brutal reminder of the fate that almost certainly awaits you now.

Already, the monsters that defeated your party are moving in to claim their prizes, picking through the bodies of your fallen comrades with callous disregard as they gloat over their victory. You see one of the monsters prod a man in his side, eagerly snatching him away into a tunnel as he gives a soft groan that betrays his attempt at playing dead.

A shrill scream from behind alerts you to another of your party members being dragged away by one of the fiends, the unfortunate woman struggling feebly as her whimpers grow softer and further away. With the rest of the monsters circling like vultures around the scene, you know it is only a matter of time before one narrows in on you as well.

You do not have to wait long before your fears are realized. A shadow falls over you and you glare up with as much defiance as you can possibly muster, knowing that there is very little you can do to escape what is about to happen next.
