All characters in this story are the age of 18 or older.
In an alternate earth, in the year 2010, a mysterious company called RealDreams began selling fictional characters, not action figures or cardboard standups but living breathing things, plucked out of their universes and brought back by extraction teams.
Now, i say “things” because after a long legal dispute most world governments determined a fiction character cannot have human rights, and are to be considered merchandise. Hollywood actors and actresses, especially feminists, were none too pleased, seeing their likenesses sold and abused for a few thousand dollars. copyright holders clearly saw it differently, happily giving away their licences for a percentage cut.
scientific communities were buzzing, RealDreams had developed universal portal technology, solving almost every one of humanities struggles. resources were truly limitless, and overpopulation was a forgotten concept with universal emigration becoming possible on a large scale.
On the medical side, RealDreams began offering a vast array of in house modification services, coincidentally managing to cure many common health problems. Indeed, the incredible benefit RealDreams proved to be for humanity kept any moral issues thoroughly under the rug and organizations such as W.A.R.(Women Against RealDreams) led by Emma Watson were considered a laughingstock by most.
By 2020 a “character” as they are often referred to as, can be found in a staggering 90% of homes as tutors, servants, pets, cumdumps, living furniture and anything in between. Walking down the average street it isn’t uncommon to see a family walking their new, crying and confused Hermione Granger, or to see a rich man being pulled in his personal carriage by a team of BDSM Wonder Women (back in fashion and very stylish transportation). Clubs even began to form around various characters and IPs where people can share stories and tips about ownership. Modification also was no longer RealDreams exclusive or even character only, personal mods were a rising trend and many private clinics offered more and more **** character alterations, a pair of tits the size of beach balls for $900 is a bargain after all.
Earth prime was truly a paradise for its intended residents, and a nightmare for its unwitting prisoners.
