Children of the Lamp:The Grave Robbers of Genghis Khan

{Chapter I, Comeback to Sorrento}

Nimrod, Powerful English Djinn and uncle to the Similarly empowered, but quite Dissimilar twins John and Philippa Gaunt, had absolutely no idea why he should have felt compelled to invite his young niece and nephew on his annual holiday to the Southern Italian town of Sorrento an his favourite grand hotel in southern Italy, the Excelsior Victoria. But what perplexed him more was the need to invite the Washington Siblings: Duncan and his little twin sister Jenna. The hotel, which was built upon the site of the old villa once owned by Roman Emperor, Augustus, had never actually been the kind of place that seemed particularly appealing to children, even for Post-Pubescent Teens. It was full of old people and even older antiques, items not people, in case of misunderstanding. The Hotel had extremely elegant Frescoes and Stiff looking waiters in white Jackets. Of course after the Washington Family had built more Hotels here after buying the building they had taken great pains to Rennovate it, to incorporate Linen table Cloths, pricless artworks and sculptures reveling in the history of the Hotel.

Sorrento itself offered only inlaid woodwork, Spectacular views of the bay of Naples and the Great Volcano Vesuvius-and proximity to the ruined city of Pompeii.

With shit Wi-Fi and not much Internet access or a big wide-screened TV's the first night for all but the elder of the Washington twins was boring beyond belief. As for the scond night?
