Tom couldn't wait to play Dungeons and Dragons for the first time. Sure, it was nerdy, but after transferring to a new school, since the death of his father, Tom had wanted nothing more to make new friends. New friends meant that he could get away from his mother, who had become quite mean in the last few years.
