It is the year 2068, in the city of Tokyo. After a period of mass upheaval the world finally seems to be entering a state of relative peace. While large corporations still exist and some parts of the world still reel from the disaster of the resource wars Japan has managed to become a relatively idyllic society of the future mostly thanks to its prodigious technological advancement.

The city of Tokyo is cleanly run, an ideal fusion of the high-tech and the traditional. A mix of modern mega-metropolis and ancient culture dating back hundreds of years. Japan is now a nation of cyborgs, all but a few select individuals having received a sub dermal chip at the base of their neck from the age of five allowing them to login to the greatest technological marvel of their age.

EDEN, the digital city on a hill, a shining beacon of technology and human innovation combining in a perfect and seamless virtual reality. For those unfamiliar with the virtual reality that fast supplanted the Internet it could be overwhelming.

For the youths who grew up in the mid 21st century it was a second home. A place to work, play and for those more adventurous among them engage in activities their real selves could not dream of.

EDEN, the holy land where the blind can see, the deaf can hear and all can soar on waves of information. But recently this peaceful place has been invaded. Strange programs and viruses have been appearing called Digimon and the strange beings and the hackers who use them are wreaking havoc all across the Internet.

Factions of warring hackers fight for supremacy in the underweb, emerging from their dens to steal data, damage property or just generally make a nuisance of themselves in this largely unregulated space.

It is a land of great opportunity, but also great risk. In this digital realm many stories overlap.
