Dungeons and Dragon's - A Tale

The tables were ready. Dices were set. Character sheet lined perfectly onto the tabletop as the tiles on the wooden table segmented the world into a 5 by 5 feet squares into inches, and it showed an entire town of Goodwitch... A small port town by the river, leading out into the sea. It was a little dark in the basement, but what would set a better atmosphere than the stale air of the basement, paired with darkness lit with few candles and the sunlight blocked by thin curtains? The DM smirks at you as everyone begins to introduce their characters, the four brave adventurers. One a classic human fighter, boring as ever but still as effective. One a dwarf cleric, also generic. The sorcerer is rather interesting... And you can tell the sorcerer will get some multiclass benefits. They are planning on that too. And then it's your turn, and you introduce your character, everyone has a laugh, and throws a few crass and lewd jokes here and there. And then the DM starts.

"You begin at the tavern of Goodwitch, a small town where all adventures begin. A comfy home to many, and troubles are few, but troubles are still trouble. You hear that there is a goblin group that plagues the town somewhat, and has to be dealt or reasoned with. What do you in this tavern?" And with that, you enter the tavern, and you hear a familiar rolling of the dice as someone declares an action, but you are suddenly engulfed in a bright light as you find yourself suddenly in a warm, bright, candle-lit hall. Spices, alcohol, and laughter linger in the air and suddenly, you realize, you are not alone in your world anymore... And you are no longer yourself.
