You'd just gotten out of class, and were walking down the street towards the bus stop. You know you got enough sleep every night, but every day was beginning to leave you more and more drained. One more day of shitty classes in subjects you weren't interested in and hardly understood. Your family had since cut you out, thinking that somehow that would help you get it together, but here you were. Sometimes I wish I could just get out of here, you think, rubbing your eyes. Out of this town, out of the state, hell out of this world... as long as I wasn't here anymore. Suddenly, the world starts to get darker. Are you going blind?! You hear a high pitched whine, almost seeming as if it were coming from inside your head. The whine increases in pitch, you begin to lose a sense of where you are. Are you even still standing? Your senses are overloaded to the point where you want to just curl up and disappear, and then... nothing. You don't hear anything, and before you is an infinite expanse of darkness. You don't even have a body. Where am I? Am I dead? You try to process what just happened. Wait, you think. If I were dead, then I wouldn't be aware, right? So I must be alive, or at least something like it.

"You're fast to catch on."

A voice echoes out from the darkness, instantly being absorbed by... wherever you were. Hold on, that didn't seem right. How can a voice echo and be absorbed? It didn't make sense to you, but it sounded like something you shouldn't be able to hear, but were hearing nonetheless.

The voice chuckled. "You're in limbo, boy. Don't try to make sense of it; you could sit here for the next hundred cycles trying to figure it out and have the exact same understanding as you do now. Listen, here's all you need to know. I'm... well the best way I can put it that you could understand, is that I'm a passing deity. I heard there's a wicked party happening at this little place I know at the end of the universe, but I decided to take a little detour and have some fun. So I pointed at your planet, and you happened to be who I was pointing at. Congratulations, kid."

"Congratulations? What do you mean? What's going to happen to me?" You didn't think it was possible to be any more confused, but you've learned a lot about what's possible in the last couple minutes. If he.. it... whatever was even telling the truth.

"I don't have much time, so here's the run-down. I'm giving you your own pocket universe. You can do whatever you want with it. You can't die, not really. Your body can be destroyed but your soul will remain and stay sentient. If you want to come back, just end the universe and you'll be right back in this one, one the same spot you left. Minus all your powers of course. Have fun!"

"Wait!" You yell, more confused than before. How is any of this possible? Who are you? Wh-"

"Every question you're asking or were about to ask has the same answer: I don't care. Do you know what it's like to have a drink so strong, it feels like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped 'round a large gold brick? Neither do I. But I'm sure as hell gonna find out. Now if you'll excuse me, I must be on my way."

You jolt, blinking. You're exactly where you were before, on the sidewalk. What the fuck just happened? You remember everything, clear as day, but that doesn't help you decide what to do. Your first thought is that you must be sick, having hallucinations. Maybe you should go to a doctor. But there's another voice asking, what's the harm in finding out if that was real?
