In the future, a Japanese corporation developed Gynoids, female robots. They looked identical to human women. At first the Gynoids were expensive but then the American and various European governments learned that fewer humans were breeding with each other.

Men had stopped trusting women. Nobody wanted to risk a false rape accusation or lose money through a divorce. This led to a population decrease. In order to keep the population going, Gynoids in America and most of Europe were made cheaper and equipped with artificial wombs.

As a result, men started breeding with Gynoids instead of women. Since most people preferred machine women to human ones, they started programming Gynoids to only produce male offspring. However glitches do sometimes happen.
