I was seated on the Hogwarts Express. My wand busy at work drawing and planning. It was going to be an exciting year. The first three I was young, inexperienced, and quite frankly, foolish. This year was going to be different.
The train's horn sounded, it was a final warning before it took off. I heard the shuffling of feet outside the cabin. The door to my cabin opened slightly, and two eyes peeked in. Cho Chang stared at me for a moment, and quickly the door closed.
The door burst open, and Cho Chang pulled her carry on behind her. She placed her things in their compartment, taking a seat across from me.
"Idius," said Cho. Cho looked delighted to see me, her smile was able to pull my concentration. I had a weakness for the girl.
"Cho, my love" I said. "Have you reconsidered?" Cho laughed waving a hand dismissively at me.
"Haven't changed a bit I see," said Cho.
"It's been a year Cho," I said, "I am a whole new man. And I haven't been able to stop thinking about you." I looked at the girl, who had shed her Ravenclaw robe, and was now wearing a Ravenclaw skirt and sweater. Her legs looking inviting clad in dark tights. I always had to remember that beneath that clothing was a girl who trained hard for Quidditch. The flashes I had gotten of her backside while helping her train were melted into my brain. Cho grabbed the edge of her skirt, when I looked up her eyebrow raised itself. She knew.
"It's been three months," said Cho, "technically."
"Technically," I said? "Damnit, I only like when I use technically." Again she laughed. I only had three more years to get her. I needed some results.
"You have grown a little," said Cho, "from your first year I mean. You asked me out a lot back then." I remember well. I was the only one brave enough. I walked up to her and when she said no, I did the only logical thing. I asked her friends out. This was after I had asked out the seventh years. Even the Slytherin respected my balls.
"You haven't brewed any dangerous potions in about a year." The potions phase wasn't my best. "Didn't you get brain damage from a few?"
"Don't remember," I said. Again she laughed.
"And didn't you lose some toes?". My wand stopped its work for a moment, and I looked to my feet and quickly wiggled my toes. When I was satisfied my wand again began to move. Cho looked confused.
"They grew back," I said.
The door to our cabin peeked open. Two feminine eyes looking back. She entered the room. I already knew it was Padma Patil. She laid her bag down quickly, and greeted me.
