Jaune's Journey of Control

Jaune Arc

At some point, Jaune just so happened to find himself upon an online mental entrancing course. His interest caught, he chose to give it his time to get familiar with the techniques for trance-like influence, having this in his arsenal, that allowed one manipulation over another's psyches just may give him the edge that he never had, yet needed.

He went through months learning methods and researching each detail beyond just the site he was on making sure he did not waste effort learning what was useless. He contemplated using different sources unsure if learning more from others would ruin his progress but he had to confirm plausibility. He began taking secret classes on his scroll the last he wanted was knowledge of his efforts known it could ruin his window of opportunity if this developed skill is attained only for it to be worthless if others were aware of it or worst gives his friends more ammo to laugh at.

Jaune Arc the team leader of JNPR has been feeling rather down recently. During the first year as a below average selected student at Beacon Academy, Jaune stuck out obviously. He was of the lowest possible quality when taking nearly everything into account, and keeping in mind that he had companions, they additionally would in general take jabs at his not exactly professional battle capabilities, and comparative power to those who have unlocked and utilized or rather weaponize their semblances.

They thought it was all in good fun, and that Jaune didn't take it at face value... however, in truth he did. In his his eyes it truly annoyed him that he was so outmatched, taunted even by his alleged friends, teammates, and even his partner who at a point stopped defending him as much.

On a occasion he managed to overhear his team speaking of inability in battle. "Don't get me wrong I respect fearless leader but even so it's kinda sad how he's kinda soft for a fighter isn't it Ren?" Nora questioned. "We can't all be heavy hitters Nora, but given his choice of fighting style, his weapons, and his above average aura he simply doesn't seem fit to be a fighter." Ren stated. "He's a tactician and a when losing a durable decoy those are his strongest perks." Pyrrha tells them "He can't make the quick decisions every fighter needs to make, not in our spars and certainly not in a real fight." She continues in a saddened tone. "He says he came from a long line of warriors some even before the profession of huntsman. But, he lacks the talent." "Be that as it may he has been improving slowly but sur-" Ren chimes in but is cut off. "Slowly, keyword *Slowly* at his rate he will not be ready for the world of Grimm that we head towards not without us and NOT BY HIMSELF!" She screamed shocking all that heard. "But we can still be there." Nora spoke up "We can't ALWAYS be there no matter how much we want to, no matter how much I want to." Pyrrha said solemnly. "We can drive him off this path." This time Ren "We can convince him that what is trying to be is not attainable or provide an alternative if it comes to it." This conversation continued Jaune hearing all of it until it ended with Nora in near tears, Ren emotionally unbroken yet his grip on his sleeves said otherwise, and Pyrrha on the edge of a brake of some kind. All agreeing that if they can't convince him to leave this path or take a safer route to fighting Grimm then they would expose his transcripts personally with all them saying it was to keep a friend safe while said friend heard the whole arrangement then numbly walked away.

Jaune was already falling into the pit of despair desperately clawing to escape, but that whole pack he heard his team make crippled his strength. He neglected his some aspects of his life to learn his skill but, what hurt wasn't their plan, their true thoughts behind closed doors, or that it was his team it was that fact that they gave up on him. What he needed to hear was that he can get better he can improve if he worked harder. He worked so hard to the point he could even smile. While everyone around him has the luxury of being able to laugh, have fun, be rascist, read smut while he trains his body skills til he can barely leave and bring himself to bed.

He needed a break or some form of relief, and had the perfect skill to assist him. He also needed to review, test, and refine said skill to prove his work was for naught. But keeping it secret was also planned so he can't just go trial by fire he needed to prepare and choose the perfect subject along with the right circumstances.
