Nick Palmer was a boy born to his mother who had a child due to a lovelock. Basically his mother had been pregnant with him before her marriage. Her boyfriend not willing to uplift the responsibility had abandoned them and ran away.

But his mother still gave birth to him who was ready to raise him as a single mother. But this wasn't acceptable to her parents who cut off relations with her. So this made Nick didn't have any family only besides his mother.

As a single mother it was hard raising Nick up, her job barely met their necessities. She was a junior clerk in a government office which kept her on move as transfers from one location kept on happening. This led Nick to have less amount of friends and slowly he turned into a kind of loner.

In one such transfer they were travelling, when their vehicle had a huge accident. A truck had burst open their taxi's left side killing the taxi driver and Nick's mother who was sitting in the back seat on the left side.

Little Nick was barely able to survive, but had to undergo severe surgeries. His body had multiple fractures and broken bones, but this were still curable over time. But the accident had cause one severe complication in him, that was hormonal imbalance. His male hormonal organ was injured and was producing less amount of hormones. Also Nick was going through his puberty which was going to bring changes in his body.

Nick was allowed to complete his education even though he stayed in hospital recovering from his injuries. His score was decent and didn't deteriorate much. Coincidentally his both education certificate and discharge from the hospital took place on the same day. He had completed his basic education and now wanted to obtain a degree to get himself a decent job.

But the amount of money his mother had left him was almost over. The hospital bills and medicines had emptied his bank account. Now the left money was not enough to get him an admission in a low grade university. The only solution to this was applying for a scholarship which could fund his whole degree course.

Though Nick had decent score in academics, his score wasn't that high to get a scholarship in a good university, so he just started sending scholarship application letter to all the universities present out there.

University of Bright Stone Islands was one of the low grade universities which had a legal grant of the government. This university was located on one of the islands of Bright Stone which was separated from the mainland by a large amount of distance.

The only way of reaching this island was by a taking a flight to the main island and then taking a boat ride to the island on which university was located. The university was actually built so that people staying on Bright Stone Islands could receive higher education, but the inhabitants started shifting to the main land which caused islands to go barren and unpopulated.

Seeing the situation government was ready to turn the islands into privately owned islands but, the islands lacked beauty aspects and much required beaches weren't present. The islands had steep stone edges which directly resided into seas leaving only one beach which was quite devoid of life.

So the project was completely abandoned leaving and with people leaving the islands started getting depopulated and slowly the whole islands became deserted. Now all that remained was an university which the government had invested to build. Now seeing that the money getting wasted they came up with other project which was to allow the working of university.

Well the university had enough land and open spaces for dormitories and laboratories. Swimming pools and ground courts could be built as per Olympic guidelines, which were good for training athletes and due to the lack of people and distractions of worldly matter one could have fantastic concentration without any deviations and disturbances.

Due to this the university became acclaimed as a good sports university. But these students often had low score in academics which made the cutoff score for admission reduce quite a lot. And with low cutoff score hooligans and slackers made their way into the university. But all those who took admission were boys, not a single girl even applied for this university. Why? The answer was straight

UBSI (University of Bright Stone Islands) was located far off from mainland, on islands was simply a bad choice for any girl. First you would be directly cutoff from the people, next the only way of commuting to island was through the flight which required at least 15 people to travel at a time so the cost was adjusted.

Or by a ship which could be travelling near by the islands, the chance of it being basically nil. Next the lack of inhabitants of island. As most of people leaving the islands, the people staying here were mostly the university students and the staff of the university including the teaching professionals.

The lack of inhabitants had caused most of the shops to close down leaving one or two. Also due to this the staff was all male which had made it worse. The staff was mostly single or divorced men, and those who had families still came alone here and visited their families in holidays. These people continued working here because of the salaries which was quite high than outside and the place of accommodation they got here.

The simple janitors and non-teaching staff like lab assistants had good open spaced apartment style homes for each of them without sharing. Up the ladder you went better accommodation got, teachers got good cottages with private gardens, HODs got villas and so on.

Even dormitories were cottages made of old homes of inhabitants and were given to each student without sharing and were in form of a neighborhood.

Zhang Fan was the principle of UBSI and everybody called him Principle Zhang. Even though he had just completed his 48th birthday, because of his connections he was selected as principle of the University. Also because of only University people staying he had also become the mayor of the islands.

Even though there weren't any much complications in managing the university, he was still unhappy of its conduct. And the cause of this was no female counterparts willing to come here. Also he had heard from some that if no females were willing to come they would have to declare the university as a boys only university.

Due to this he was pretty tensed. Although there were no female admissions or female teachers willing to come here from the start, he still had hope that one day this situation must will change. But with the impending order hanging on his head, he was willing to take some tough decisions.

There were two ways to avoid the order, the simple one was to get a female teacher and the harder one was to get a female student. But sometimes the easier method proves to be harder one. After hunting for two whole months they finally managed to convince an old teacher.

She was willing to come as they gave her a million dollars extra with her salary and would be here for 6months only. But she had slipped in her washroom and had broken her back. All the effort was down the drain as after her surgery she was advised complete bed rest.

To again find another teacher would take a long time so they decide to try student path, but again no girl applied to their university. This too had failed but suddenly a teacher suggested in board meeting, "Why don't we accept students who are looking for scholarships? Maybe we can gain girls admissions through this."

So Principle Zhang started looking through scholarship applications sending mails to girls who needed scholarships. At that time he came across one such application Nick Palmer.
