Darkness. Silence.

Everything is dark and quiet. You try to move but you can’t. Your arms, legs, hands, head, nothing is moving. In fact, you can’t feel anything. What’s going on?! Where are you?!

You try to feel any emotion, only to come up blank. You can’t feel sad, anger, hate, only just the thought that you’re no longer alive, and that it’s trying to get out. Not only that, but why aren't your questions important?

“From the looks of things, you weren’t suppose to pass away just yet. You were way too early.” The voice continues, “Because you were taken too soon, we can’t refund those years and let you rest in pease, and you can’t be sent back to your original life since your family and friends have already buried you.”

Well that’s just great. What are you supposed to do now, stay in limbo?

“In order to have you pass on completely, you must live out the rest of your life, but in a new world.” The voice continues, “And, we'll even let you choose on what social norms the world will have.”

Getting to live in a new world, and even picking the worlds own norms? That actually doesn’t sound like a bad deal! You could have to where herms are allowed, incest, or maybe even have nudity and public sex be a common practice. If you could feel any emotion, you’d probably feel excited right now!

“However,” The voice speaks up, “there is a slight catch.”

And just like that, every perverted fantasy went down the drain.

“In order to keep a natural balance, each norm you want to have in this new world must also have a taboo to keep things from getting too chaotic. It is unfortunate, but rules are rules, even in alternate worlds.”

Despite this new source of information, maybe having some sort of taboo would make things interesting. Hell, most fetishes were birthed from social norms and taboos. Also, what do you got to loose?
