Laurenis

Your eyes scan the tavern, taking in the sight of each poor drunkard drowning away his sorrows. This is an average night for you, for better or worse. For all your skills and talents your assignment to protect this city has been a boring one. The occasional drunken brawl that needs breaking up is all the action you've seen in weeks. That, and knocking out whichever pig decided to try making a pass at you that evening.

The dull evening is interrupted by a scream in the distance. You barely heard it, and apparently you were alone in hearing in. The goings on in the tavern don't so much as slow for a second as you turn around to peer out the window. The few parts of the village you can see lit by torches seem empty enough, for now. Soon another scream follows, this time the noise around you dies down as at least one other person in the room seems to have heard it. Then, beside a torch you spot a man running at full sprint. The look on his face is at first one of fear, and then it goes blank. He falls. Once he hits the ground you notice the spear lodged in his back. The weapon is violently pulled back by a green fist, and out from the shadows emerges a dark green monster of a man. He stands at least eight feet tall with a muscle mass far greater than any human could hope to achieve. All you can do is grin. Could this finally be a worthy opponent?

Your smile fades not a second later when a second of the creates appears in the light of the torch. Then a third, and a fourth, and soon a green fist surrounds the flame and darkens that part of the town once again. One by one each of the flames fall.
