Liberation of Anloo

It's late September 1944 and me and my squad are on the outskirts of Anloo,The Netherlands.I"m Sergeant John Ridgeway of the First Canadian Army. In all there are ten of us on a road that leads through Anloo. We've been tracking a group of Nazi trying to get back to German soil. So far they responsible for the outright slaughter of two towns and we made it our job to bring them to justice or death, whatever came first.

From inside a dense wooded area i have three of my men check out the surrounding town. returning after a few minutes they report to have seen no sign of any Germans nor town people. Giving the all clear signal we start a slow trek into Anloo. Most of the outskirts is farm land with building large enough to hide a tank, sending teams of two men to check them out we make a real slow progress into the centre of town.

Finally we hear some music drifting on the breeze. It's coming from the third building pass the main intersection, some sort of eatery with curtains covering the bottom six inches of the window. using binoculars we see inside the eatery, spotting only females of all ages. Waving the men to spread out on both sides of the street I approach the eatery's door, Opening it slowly i holler inside

"It's all right we're Canadian here to help you,not harm you!"

That's when I find out that they aren't that helpless
