The King and Queen are dead.

They were killed in a freak accident while travelling. At least that is what the people believe and you intend to keep it that way. Your alibi is strong but you have no desire to bring undue attention onto yourself.

As their only child, the kingdom is now yours. Unfortunately, things will not be simple. Tradition demands a seven day period of waiting before you can officially be crowned and you will have many potential enemies with their own intentions for the crown planning, scheming and seeking to see you never even make it to coronation day.

That said, however, your power is now uncontested within the palace, you can indulge in whatever pleasures you desire. You are now free to act on those little thoughts and ideas that you have lusted to do for so long.

You awoke to a fresh morning breeze and the distant sound of birds as they drifted through your open bedroom window.
