By that time holographic simulators have gotten so advanced that 90% of the population basically lives their whole adult life in virtual reality, and the advances in automation mean that almost no one has a 'job' any more, we all live on the planetary "Basic Living Stipend" protected by our benevolent pseudo-goddess "Lady Macintosh".*
*(The name the singularity chose for itself.)

You however are in luck, you are a so called "outsider", you actually leave the VR worlds and do stuff on "Earth Prime", which is how you met Deshauna. Deshauna is one of the rare people who have an actual job: specifically she designs new VR worlds. Her latest project is what's called "Archeo-Content": stuff based on old fiction that's out of copyright, in specific: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

You watched the first three seasons with her and liked the show a lot, so she asked you to live-alpha test the new VR world, and you said yes... There's one small thing though, the personality matrixes of some of the ponies don't quite line up right: they tend to get a bit: Raunchy...
