My Math Teacher

No names here are real, however situations or actions may be inspired by real events and thoughts.

John is a far above average student in many ways. He is second in his class and unlike many around him, he has planned accordingly for his future and plans to pursue college for engineering.

John may have a few friends, but due to his high intelligence often finds it difficult to communicate or function in social interactions. This is one of the main reasons for his isolation and recluse behaviour where he largely buries himself inside of video games. This is where he feels most comfortable interacting with even his friends due to his difficulty communicating with others. Though he can emulate normal behaviour he finds he can never act normally around many people.

In school he is able to learn anything very quickly and in subjects involving math, science, computers, or circuits he is able to put little to no effort into the classes while pulling the highest grades possible in those classes. While he moved from another country in 9th grade, many of his teachers have been teaching him for this long length of time or most of it. These teachers and even those he only just begins to know quickly realize the sheer difference between him and other students. This is largely because of the fact that a majority of the students at that school don't try very hard or just don't care about their futures.

This allows his teachers to appreciate him as being part of their classes, expect nothing less than the best from him, and sometimes even give him extra work or challenges.

One of his teachers, his math teacher, Ms. Adams knows him even better. This due to her helping to run a club he is in, their school's National Honors Society. This has allowed a relationship of trust and care to form and grow beyond that of an average student but just how far would that care go?
