Naruto

An eighteen year old boy was running away from a large red building. He was wearing a bright orange jumpsuit and green goggles on his head. He had blonde, spiky hair and bright blue eyes, with three whisker-like marks on each of his cheeks. His name was Naruto Uzumaki. His dream was to become the Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, but in order to do that, he had to first become a ninja. Unfortunately he had failed his graduation exam, again.

He had a large grin, as he ran from the building, carrying a large scroll in his hands. One of his instructors at the academy, a man named Mizuki, had convinced him that if he stole the scroll and learnt one of it's jutsu's, then he could graduate from the academy. He made his way to where Mizuki had told him to go and opened the scroll. The first jutsu he found was called the Shadow-clone Jutsu. It allowed the user to create, solid copies of themselves.

Groaning, Naruto said, "Clones! Why did it have to be clones!"

A few hours later, a man dropped down from a tree, right in front of Naruto.

"NARUTO!!" he yelled, his face was contorted with rage.

Looking up from the scroll, he saw his favorite teacher, Iruka Umino. He had brown hair, tied back in a ponytail, and a scar going across his face, just under his eyes. He was a Chunin of the Leaf Village and he wore the customary uniform of one. A green flak jacket, the standard ninja outfit, and a headband, with the insignia of the Leaf.

"Oh, hey Iruka-sensei," he said, chuckling nervously, while rubbing the back of his head, "You found me and I only had time to learn one technique."

Iruka looked the boy over. He was beaten and out of breath, "Was he out here training, the whole time," Iruka thought. Whatever he was about to say next was interrupted, as the sound of a twig snapping, came from behind him, "Naruto, get down!" he yelled, pushing the boy out of the way. Suddenly, kunai and shuriken, burst forth from the trees, heading directly for them. Naruto watched in horror, as Iruka was hit by them. Luckily, none of the wounds were initially fatal. Looking up from where the weapons had come from, they saw a man jump out. He was garbed in the same clothes a Iruka, but he had a hat covering his long, white hair. It was Mizuki.

"Well, well," Mizuki says, gloating, "I was hoping to only find the brat here, but I guess I can kill you too."

"Mizuki,"Iruka shouts in surprise, "but why?"

"Why, because this village is weak. I'm going to bring that scroll to someone who will appreciate my skills and even make me stronger," turning to Naruto, "Give me the scroll Naruto."

"Don't Naruto," Iruka pleads, "The secrets in that scroll could bring the downfall of the village."

"Why should he care?" Mizuki says, bursting from laughter, "The village hates him. The people have been trying to kill him from the moment he was born. Do you think their going to let him become a ninja. He can't even create a simple clone. He's useless," Turning back to Naruto, "Have you ever wondered why they hate you?"

"You know it's forbidden to speak of it in front of him," Iruka shouts.

Mizuki broke out into another fit of laughter, "Why should I care? Eighteen years ago, the village was attacked by the Nine-tailed Fox. The Fourth Hokage fought the creature, but he couldn't kill it. Instead he sealed it away, inside the body of a newborn baby. You Naruto Uzumaki, you are that baby, you are the Nine-tails," seeing Naruto look at Iruka, he laughed again, "You really think he cares for you? He hates you. The creature that resides in you, is the one that killed his parents."

Tears were flowing from Naruto's eyes. He stood up and ran into the forest, the scroll strapped to his back. He ran as fast as he could, trying to get away from what Mizuki had told him. He didn't want to believe it, but something kept telling him it was true. His tears grew, disrupting his vision, meaning, he didn't see the tree root sticking out of the ground. His foot caught it and he was sent tumbling to the ground. Looking up. he saw the scroll had opened slightly. There was a smaller piece of paper sticking out from the scroll.

Naruto grabbed the paper and found a seal on it. There was a small note attached to it.

It read:

"Dear Naruto,

I'm afraid that I may not have been around to watch you grow and for that I'm sorry. My name is Kushina Uzumaki, your mother. I just hope you know, that your father and I love you very much. By now, I'm assuming you have reached the rank of Chunin, but if not, then I hope nothing is wrong. The paper you have found, has a containment seal on it. This allows for the containment of any object, no matter the size or weight. The seal in question is a bloodseal. You can activate it, by rubbing your blood into it. When you release what is inside, do not be afraid. Your father and I wanted you to have it. Your father used it when he was younger, but the moment I became pregnant with you, I told him to remove it or I'd remove his balls. Hopefully, it will help you to gain some control over the power of the Nine-tails. Trust me Naruto, I was her former Jinchuuriki, so I know how persuasive she can be.

I'm sorry I can't tell you the identity of your father, but he had many enemies and I promised him that I wouldn't tell you, out of fear of what they will do.

We both love you, deeply, we hope that your life in the Leaf Village has been happy,

Mom."

Naruto was crying after reading the letter. Some of the people of the village had told him that his parents had abandoned him, but here was proof that it wasn't the case and to find out his mother had the Nine-tails inside her, before it was passed to him gave him some comfort, for he had something that she had carried.

Picking up the seal, he wiped some blood, from a cut on his cheek, onto his thumb and smeared it onto the paper. A cloud of white smoke erupted from it and revealed...
