Patching Things Up

Heather Masters has been a success for her entire life. Starting in grade school, she got the highest grades and got the best parts in all the school plays. When girls her age started to date, Ms. Masters got the guys that the girls were all after. Everything was just rosy then.

Meanwhile, her friend Jennifer Lee wasn't the greatest. She did well on her own merits, mind you, but not as well as Heather. When she got the role of Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet," Jenni got the second best part. While her friend dated the quarterback in high school, she dated a running back. She was still quite popular, but always living in the shadow of her friend's success. Ms. Lee has been a nice girl, yet she's been jealous for a very long time.

On the surface, Jennifer and and Heather were a perfect pair. Late in High School, they experimented, like many young women do. They shared a curious kiss, but didn't go much further than that. It didn't seem to mean much in the long run it seemed.

What could break up this perfect pair of popular, good-looking girls? A boy, naturally. At the start of college, Jenni and Heather were at different colleges. They wrote each other all the time, but finally had somewhat separate lives. Jennifer was finally the most popular girl- dating the Heissman's Trophy nominated Quarterback and everything. Without warning, at the start of the second session, Heather made the decision to move to the college her friend was attending. This ruined all the work her girlfriend had done. She lost the big role in the play and she got dumped by her boyfriend- for Heather.

After all these years, Jennifer just snapped! They argued to the point of near violence and their cordial relationship was destroyed. They hadn't spoken for weeks when Heather got a note.

'Dear Heather,
I'm sorry I overreacted. I know that you didn't mean to do anything. Let's talk about this in person. Meet me at the abandoned dorm building at ten o'clock.

Sincerely,
Jenni'

Being the nice girl she was, she happily obliged the wishes of her old friend. Dressed in the uniform of the university- the typical dress shirt and pleated skirt- she knocked on the door, but heard no answer. Curious, she opened the door and entered cautiously. Jennifer seemed nice in the letter, yet she wasn't sure how honest she was being. She turned down the hall and looked into an open room. She was sure she heard a noise, so she had to see. It was then that a hand grasped her around the waist and put a cloth to her mouth. Heather tried to fight, but felt her willpower failing. After breathing in the weird smell for about a minute, she passed out.

The young woman wasn't sure how long she had been out, but her head was hurting a little bit. She raised her head and was shocked by what she saw in front of her!
