Queen Neferu

The sun had begun to set, its last rays reflecting on the Nile as it flowed through the city of Thebes. The city had been built long ago by the ancient Pharaohs, and from where they ruled their Kingdom that stretched from the Niles source in Upper Egypt and beyond to its mouth in Lower Egypt where it emptied into the sea.

Thebes had witnessed much history, seeing both good and bad times. Today the city is the largest in Egypt having prospered under the reigns of the current Pharaoh Nehsey and his predecessor Re’hopte, it had grown into a centre of trade and commerce and the centre of the Egyptian world. Throughout the city, the usual rustling and bustling of people began to calm as traders and merchants began to close their stalls and people gradually returned home, emptying the many bazaars and squares which was surrounded by grand buildings with ornately decorated facades, and the multitude of temples dedicated to the Gods.

To the south of the city was the Royal Palace of the Pharaohs, a huge complex of grand buildings and lush gardens that contrasted with the large expanse of lifeless desert which surrounded it. The inside was itself ornately decorated with facades of bright colours depicting ancient Pharaohs and Gods, decorations of Gold and silver and expensive wares lining the hallways, leaving no one in doubt this was the house of the Pharaoh. The palace itself could be considered a city, with thousands of servants, guards and Royal officials all tending to their various duties in service of the Kingdom and its royal family.

In the eastern corner of the palace, were the apartments of the Queen Mother, Neferu, who was considered by many to be the most beautiful woman in all Egypt. She was held in high regard by the people, having herself came from a humble background before marrying the previous Pharaoh and often engaged in acts of philanthropy to help those in need having not forgotten her roots.

Her apartments were no exception to the rest of the palace, being spacious and richly decorated as befitting a senior member of the royal family. In the centre of the Queens chambers was her private garden, which she had personally designed with lush greenery, colourful flowers and ornate fountains with statues of men and women, often embracing one another. The garden was tended to by her personal servants who took it upon themselves to maintain the Queens garden.

Up a set of wide steps from her garden, could be found Neferu’s bedchamber. It overlooked the lush gardens and the Nile off in the distance. Like the rest of her apartments, they were richly decorated. However, unlike the rest of her apartment and the rest of the palace the facades were not decorated with Pharaohs and Gods, or scenes of battles and key moments in their history. Instead, they were portrayals of nude figures of men and women copulating, displaying seemingly every sex act known to man.

Within the chamber there were several servants which surrounded a large circular bed, whose frame was made of pure gold with ornate carvings, and sheets of the finest silks. One held a jug of wine, ready to fill an awaiting cup, another held a plate of various multi-coloured fruits, whilst another stood ready with a container clear liquid whilst another still gently fanned the bed with a fan made of peacock feathers.

Each of them stood watching as three glistening figures made passionate love. Two of the figures were Nubians. Famed warriors from the south who served with a fierce loyalty to the kingdom, and often employed as royal guards. They were also known also for their size and sexual prowess amongst certain circles.

Sandwiched between them was a buxom figure, who’s smooth caramel complexion contrasted with their dark hues that almost matched her long onyx black hair. She was mounted atop one of them as the other came in from behind, the room was filled with their grunting and moaning. Despite being taken by two specimens of men, one could not be mistaken that it was her who was in control, who dictated the rhythm as the others simply followed her lead.

This woman was Neferu, Queen Mother of Egypt.
