The year is 51BC, Julius Caesar just finished conquering Gaul and Rome is being flooded with gold, slaves and other spoils of war. You are the son of a member of the lower nobility, although your father has a seat in the senate your family does not hold much influence in roman politics. It does however have a few businesses, mainly brothels, and with the large amount of slaves coming into the city, your father decides to open a new one in the city of Ostia the harbour city of Rome. Your father decides that you will be responsible for the brothel, the establishment has already been bought and decorated, however you have to go the market to buy the prostitutes.

You're young and ambitious, you want you family to gain power and go up the social ladder, and you know that there is only three ways of doing it, marrying into a more powerful family, getting rich and military glory. Your plan is to do all three and being away from the rest of your family gives you enough space to do it. There will always be a demand for prostitutes, the only problem is that too many brothels in an area reduce the amount of clients in your own brothel. You know that in order for your brothel to thrive you will need to hire men, fighting men to either take down rival establishments or to protect your own. Lucky for you Rome is full of veterans and warriors from all over the republic. Once you get enough money you will be able to get yourself a wife from a powerful family and advance your families status within the senate.
