After humanity faced possible extinction, a different threat appearing before them each time they triumphed, they realised that a future on Earth would never be possible, and if they didn't die from a virus, sooner or later, the environment would produce mutants or volcanoes would erupt simultaneously, or a black hole would destroy them all. Point is, they needed to leave.

On the year 2222, the Stanchion Research Facility created the Sirius Starship, a spaceship with a mission to carry one hundred thousand people to space and venture out to look for a new home planet. However, before they could get anybody to ride, yet another threat arrived that pushed Stanchion to a Plan B.

By using DNA samples from random people all over the world, they told the Sirius Starship to clone new humans during it's trip through space, and sent it on its way. To be able to survive the journey, however, they needed something that could control and manage the ship, make decisions on the fly, and ultimately decide the future of humanity, so they put it under the care of an AI, one smart enough to captain the seedship, and kind enough to value the lives of its passengers.

48 years have passed since the journey of the seedship began. Currently, it is travelling through Apus 4. The last 3 series have been confirmed to hold no suitable planet for human life.
