Stood, bent over and slightly rattled, Abigale painfully held onto her breast as spittle dripped from her mouth, she tiredly looked up through the mess of her blonde hair towards the ravishing beast known as Solstice. Her silver and white skin tight costume ripped and battered around her body as a bead of sweat slowly dripped down around her jaw. Straightening up with a wince and deep breath, the heroine Starlight Shimmer; Abigale Greendale, focused her eyes solely on the enemy.
Staring at him, she watched his fanged teeth disappear behind a cruel grin as he began advancing towards her again. Adrenaline pumping fast and blood coursing through her body like lava, this encounter had been ugly and fast up until now and only just getting her breath back, Starlight was bracing for another vicious attack.
“I’m gonna rip that little body of yours in half!” Solstice roared as he picked up his pace and began running like a steam train, crashing through water hydrants and knocking over lamp posts in his wake as his giant feet closed the distance quicker than Starlight anticipated.
Like a rabbit in the headlights, and deliberating on what to do for too long, Starlight had only a split second to react. Standing her ground and slamming her feet into the asphalt beneath her, she dug in and held fast as a plume of dust spew into the air like a crater around them as Solstice’s towering frame crashed into her.
Holding her line and trying her best to protect the innocent bystanders, forcing herself between him and them. Starlight parried his Jack hammering fists and delivered her own, aiming for his chest and using her flight powers to level out her disadvantage in height. Kicking her feet and whiling around him to confuse the beast and aiming a clean and powerful punch between his eyes.
Grunting and stumbling backwards, his eyes rolling around in his head, Solstice quickly recovered, quicker than Starlight imagined and he was back on her. His fists landing painfully all over her body as she tried to duck, dodge and move away. “Oh no you don’t!” he roared looking to press his advantage as Starlight lifted off the ground and tried to get away. His giant hand grabbed around her ankle, twisting and turning her around his head like a lasso before tossing her with ferocious speed into a building wall.
Gasping for breath and groaning, Starlight shakily got to her feet but no sooner had she looked up and Solstice was ravaging her body with blow after blow, pummeling her into the brick wall behind her ruthless deviation. Grabbing her head and pressing it into the wall with one hand whilst crushing her breasts with earth shaking punches, only relenting to let her fall to the ground so he could mount her and begin again. Laughing like a maniac “Ahah, you stupid whore!” he screamed, his fists tearing through the air and landing with squelching and bone cracking thuds, Starlight tried her best to parry his mammoth shots but her defense was too weak against him. Three unreturned and brute force fists marking their target knocked her in and out of consciousness.
Standing back horrified and yet still recording the brutal one sided attack, pedestrians edged closer and closer as Solstice tore open Starlight’s costume before standing up and bringing her lifeless body with him to her knees before him. “Is this a hero?” he mocked, his eyes ablaze with anger as he looked at the weak unpowered, lifting Starlight by her hair and dangling her in front of the citizens.
“Oh hi there, I didn’t see you lurking over my shoulder. I’m Do and I suppose we better start at the beginning huh?”
“Excellent! So, to begin at the beginning we must first understand where the beginning takes place and just what the shit is happening. So this girl, Abigale is well and truly fucked, I mean she is fucked beyond recognition, she’s fucked beyond fucked. She made a stupid decision and then another and well actually a whole bunch of stupid mistakes, all of which are conjured up I’m my little brain. Which I suppose is a good a place as any to start?”
“Back in 1998 there was a chemical stimulant created and well it didn’t really work out all that well. You see the hospital and government officials claimed it was some sort of superbug, strangely named the CranBug? And for the poor souls that contracted this piece of shit virus, it made them…… well it made them super. Now granted, had they known about this bug and the outcomes, they wouldn’t have just given it to any random and would have weaponized it. That’s not to say they haven’t of course but for the few that want to do well, support the innocent, look after thy neighbor and all that bollocks and you know, generally just be a good person – they exist and although pretty much perceived to be a nuisance, hunted by most law forces, CIA, FBI & MI5, the public love them and are happy to see in real life what they only ever saw at the movies.”
