Succubus Wasteland Ch. 05

Nimbus awoke and realised he was still in Rydia's arms. He quickly moved away. The prospect of sleep was no longer an excuse for him to be close to her. Rydia felt him startle which woke her up as well.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked. Nimbus scoffed.

"Let's just go. I've had enough of laying around here." It was barely daybreak as the sun inched over the horizon. Nimbus took a look around; it was the first decent look he had since arriving at the camp. There was nothing but wasteland as far as he could see. A flat plan of hard earth covered in dead trees filled the surface. Rydia adjusted her leather armour, which had come loose during the night.

"Well, shall we get going then?"

"Where are we going exactly? There's nothing out here," asked Nimbus. Rydia smiled as she took out her sword to clean it.

"I know these plains very well. There's a small village not too far in the north. We should go there and get some supplies," Rydia noticed Nimbus's naked body. His cock was fully erect from the cold air, "And perhaps get you some clothes while we're at it," she laughed. Nimbus's face turned red as he covered himself. The prospect of clothes pleased him. He was tired of being revealed to her. Rydia started walking towards the north and beckoned Nimbus to follow.

"Aren't we going to fly?" asked Nimbus. He'd not forgotten the dorcha from yesterday. Surely it was close to where they were by now if what Rydia said was true.

"I... think it would be better if we walked. It's not that far," she didn't elaborate more than that. Nimbus couldn't care one way or the other how they got to the village or how long it took. He only hoped the dorcha was far enough behind that they wouldn't have to worry with it.

They walked across the plains for nearly an hour. By this time the sun was burning away the early morning mist that covered Nimbus's body. His skin was covered in a thin layer of dew which made him shiver whenever a breeze passed by. He looked at Rydia, covered in her thick armour. She probably didn't have to worry about being cold, the demon.

"It's not far now," said Rydia. Nimbus turned his attention to where she was pointing. He could just make out smoke coming from somewhere in the distance. He assumed it must be village fire, "good," he thought, "the sooner I can warm myself up without help from the demon, the better."

After about twenty more minutes of travel, they reached the entrance of the village. Rydia turned to Nimbus before they entered.

"You need to stick with me at all times," she said, "If anyone asks who you are, say you're my slave." Nimbus was at once filled with hot rage.

"I'll say no such thing! How dare you pretend to be my master!" Rydia's face looked urgent as she pleaded with him

"Please Nimbus. You'll be captured again if you don't. And I know you don't want that, do you?" Nimbus didn't have to think twice. The memory of what happened yesterday was still fresh in his mind. "Good, and besides, in a way... you are my slave." Nimbus was about to retort but it was too late. Rydia pushed open the gates and they entered the village.

The village was filled with demons, not like the dorcha from the dungeon. These were perfectly symmetric, and looked... less hellish in their own way. The streets were lined with carts filled with food and supplies as the demons went about their business.

Nimbus's bare feet stepped on something smooth. He realized that the streets were paved in a blood-red marble material which was cool to the touch. As they walked, Nimbus spotted three men sitting in the shade at a table outside what looked like a restaurant.

"Are those... humans like me?" whispered Nimbus as he pointed towards the three men. Rydia looked in the direction of where he was pointing.

"No, those are vampires. You can tell by the moon-shaped scare on their faces. Only vampires have those," Before Nimbus could question further, a horse galloped down the street. There was a chain tied around the saddle and Nimbus looked in horror to see five men, all naked and bloody, being dragged along. "Those are humans like you," in-formed Rydia. The horse halted in front of Rydia as she was standing in the middle of the street.

"Move aside succubus!" said the demon atop the horse. He had the face of a bull with a large noise ring. His skin was red and he was draped in a black cloak. "These Outcasts are going to be sold as slaved in the mines!" One of the men collapsed to his knees, nearly dragging the other men down with him.

"Please... give us water..." his voice was barely audible. It was hard and dry, as if it would crack at any moment. The demon climbed off his horse and walked towards the man. Nimbus noticed the long jagged claws the demon had.

"Be silent!" The demon shouted as he raised up his hand. He struck the man hard across the face. Blood dripped down and stained the already crimson streets.

"Can't we do something?" said Nimbus. The man was crying in pain and it reminded Nimbus of his own torture he went through. The demon raised his hand, about to strike the man again.

"Wait!" shouted Rydia. The demon stopped, his claws still in mid-air as he turned to face the voice that called out to him.

"This is none of your concern succubus! I'm in charge of these Outcasts until they reach the mines! I will do with them as I please!" Rydia slowly walked towards the demon. Nimbus noticed she swayed her hips suggestively as she did so.

"Surely your master would not approve of you damaging his goods before they are delivered?" she said. The man's bloody face looked up at her. For a moment, all fear was gone from his eyes. The demon looked as well, and his rage seemed to settle as he focused on her violet eyes.

"What would you have me do?" the demon asked. Rydia pointed towards the restaurant where the three vampires were now focused on the commotion in the streets.

"Give them a few hours to rest and refresh themselves before you continue their journey," It was not a command, but the way Rydia looked at the demon, made him not able to refuse.

"Very well. One hour! Then, they go to the mines," The demon got back on his horse and drove the men over towards the shade of the restaurant. Nimbus looked on as the man with the bloody face took one more look at Rydia before he was led inside.

"Who were those men?" asked Nimbus.

"They were--" before Rydia could answer, she was suddenly brought down to her knees. Her breathing became heavy as she clung to her chest. Nimbus remembered seeing her do this yesterday. Now, it seemed like she was going through more pain than before.

"Are you alright, demon?" asked Nimbus. Rydia smiled as she turned to face him. This was the first time he'd asked about her well-being. Rydia straightened up and collected herself. Whatever hit her seemed to have passed now.

"It's nothing... Those men are called Outcasts... surely you know about them? They come from your kingdom." Nimbus started to think. He'd heard rumours that some people in his kingdom were sentenced to exile and cast down towards the Demon World. Could these "Outcasts" be the same ones?

"They are no kin to me. If they are who I think they are, then they're nothing but murders and thieves. They deserve whatever punishment they get!" Rydia's eyes narrowed. How could he show kindness at one point but then blind hatred another? It didn't matter. All that was important now was for them to find a place to stay for the night, and, to find Nimbus some clothes.

They stopped at a demon selling garments later in the day. Rydia reached into her leather pouch and pulled out three emerald coins to pay for some clothes for Nimbus. She bought him a dark green tunic with silver pants. Nimbus put them on, glad to finally be covered up. Rydia looked at Nimbus once he was fully dressed. She couldn't help but admire how good he looked in the new outfit.

As they continued walking through the village looking for an inn, Nimbus couldn't help but notice Rydia constantly stopping every so often to catch her breath. At one point, she had to sit down on a bench for several minutes, holding her body close to her.

"You're not ok," said Nimbus at last. "If you die then I'm as good as dead myself so you might as well tell me what's wrong," Rydia continued to catch her breath. There was no point hiding it any longer. She could feel her body becoming weaker by the minute.

"I'm... running low on energy," she said at last. Nimbus immediately moved away from her, not wanting there to be any chance of them accidently touching. He knew the stories of succubae, and knew from first hand experience how they regained their energy. Rydia didn't seem to notice as she held her head down.

"I used up most of the energy I got from those succubae while fighting that dorcha. I've been running on reserves ever since." Nimbus's mind wondered back to when Rydia killed the three succubae in the chamber.

"So, that's why you killed them? You were sucking away their energy?" Rydia looked up at him.

"Something like that," she said. Nimbus was still confused.

"But they were already dead. How did you get any energy from them if they were dead?" Rydia said nothing. She instead looked back down towards the street.

"That was a special case... Nimbus," she turned to face him, "if I don't receive any energy in the next few hours... I'll die." Nimbus looked at her. For a brief moment, he thought about letting his guard down and going to bed with this she-devil. She looked so... soft. How could anyone that looked like that cause him harm? He reached out his hand, about to caress her cheek, before his senses kicked in. No, she was using a trick like she did with the demon to lower my guard! Nimbus retracted his hand and made it into a tight fist.

"You only want to steal my energy to make me weak! I know how you regain your power," he said. Rydia took Nimbus's hand in hers, which made Nimbus want to jerk away with disgust and fear.

"I can do it so that you won't be harmed! I know it sounds hard to believe, but I--"

"You're a liar like all demons!" said Nimbus before she could finish. Nimbus yanked his hand away from hers and stood up, "There are plenty of demons you can seduce to regain your power! Go and bed one of them. I'll have no part of it!" With that, Nimbus stormed off towards the inn. Rydia sat there, too weak both physically and mentally to try and stop him.

The Outcasts sat at a table, still in chains. The demon sat at a table across from them, keeping a stern eye to make sure none of them tried to escape. The man with the bloody face, who was now wrapped in bandages, held his head in his hand. His thoughts wandered towards the succubus. If only he could spend just another moment with her.

"It is foolish to dwell on that she-devil," said the man sitting next to him. His body was covered in scars from the demon as well. "Our home will soon be the mines. Take this moment of pleasure while you can." As if hearing the mines mentioned, the demon got up and pulled at the chain, nearly dragging the slaves to their feet.

"Your moment of luxury ends now. We go!" The slaves got to their feet and let the demon lead them towards the door. Before they could leave, Rydia entered. She blocked their path.

"I've dealt with you enough succubus! Stand aside!" Rydia unclasped the pouch from her belt and held it in her hand.

"I've come to do business with you," she said. The Outcasts looked on with curiosity. The bandaged man was just happy to see Rydia one last time.

"If you think you can by one of these slaves, you're mistaken! They are too high of a price for anything you could have," said the demon.

"Not buy then, borrow, for merely an hour, said Rydia. She reached out and showed the demon a handful of emerald coins. The demon looked at them and then at her.

"For what purpose?" he asked

"That is my concern. No damage will come to them, I assure you." The demon took a moment to ponder this proposal.

"So be it. One hour, one Outcast," said the demon as he took the coins. Rydia walked over to the men. She knew exactly the one she wanted. The bandaged man could hardly stand as Rydia placed her hand on his.

"Unchain him. I will return him in one hour," said Rydia. The demon walked over and released the chains from the bandaged man's hands. Rydia looked into the man's eyes and led him out of the restaurant.
