Sword Hime

Jian Mei was born in a town near a military fortress of the Great Zi Dynasty, ruler of the Purple Province located in the Nine Provinces Continent.

Her family wasn't too rich yet also not too poor, allowing for Mei a fairly decent childhood when considering a commoner status, but unluckily for her such good times didn't last forever.

Being located at the border between the Purple, Blue and Azure provinces, Mei's home town was considered to be in a somewhat dangerous position yet for years it had been peaceful as any skirmishes in between the three always happened in prefixed locations, allowing for the large village to prosper, but that year something went wrong.

The Zi from Purple and the Qing from Azure, while those two dynasties were engaged in their usual yearly battles, the Lan Dynasty from the Blue Province launched a full scale attack on both and taking the other two by surprise they obtained great victories, conquering large territories from the other two.

While this was certainly a great achievement for the Lan, it was a great problem for the Zi and Qing, but an even greater catastrophe for most of the villages pillaged during the military campaign, and Mei's one was one of them.

Luckily she was away from home when that happened, allowing her to escape tragedy, but from then on the young teen had only herself to rely on to survive, so she took a broken sword from the ground and began to walk, unsure where she'll end up yet unwilling to just remain here and await her death.

After finding out how natural it felt for her to wield a sword she became a mercenary, wandering the nine provinces from a battlefield to the other for many years, or to be precise until she reached adulthood.

That night, a strange phenomenon appeared in the skies and was clearly visible from anywhere in the continent. The stars were shining more than ever, and their light seemed to descend from the heavens to form the image of a divine divine sword falling onto the earth, bringing along infinite might.

Such phenomenon was very strange, but also not unheard of. It was in fact the sign that a Sword Hime awakened, and old myths instructed that not only such girl held supreme beauty and swordsmanship, but also that the child she'll bear was fated to conquer and unite the whole world under his might.

Aware of such teachings the rulers of the nine provinces immediately sent out people to find the Sword Hime, but only Mei knew that not only the illusive divine sword fell upon her, but also that in her body something special woke up, something she always somewhat felt but never understood, a peerless power that would make her invincible if properly grasped.
