On a other-wise average day on planet Earth, a strange force of energy passed through the planet. This force was The Great Shift, A supernatural that shifted the minds of 90% of the worlds population into different, random bodies. Say, an 80 year old man is shifted into the hot college co-ed down the street and his old body now has the mind of a twelve year boy from Japan. That is just an example of the kind of chaos the world was thrown into. Luckily, the chaos didn't last long. After a couple of weeks, the governments of the world announced that they could not find a way to reverse the Shift and began several programs to restore order to the world and get back to some kind of normal. Shifted people could claim their real identities and return to their lives, jobs and homes.

Things would never really go back to normal for the Shifted generation, though. Young people had decades of their lives stolen after Shifting into older bodies and the former owners of those bodies got to live for much longer than they would have in their young bodies. Many found themselves in the bodies of celebrities. Many more found themselves inside of convicted felons in prison. And nearly everyone had to deal with the new hormones of their swapped bodies. Boys are now Girls. Girls are now Boys. Sons are now their Mothers. Daughters are their Fathers. Everyone is now someone else. It's a brand new world.
