The Desired Magic World

In 2102, a crack team of scientists aboard the I.S.S. Experimenting with a new space-based atom smasher finally managed to tear a hole in space-time while searching for some method of teleportation to make intergalactic travel easier after the world’s over-population became disastrous. This hole did not pave a way for teleportation or intergalactic travel, however. Instead, it became a gateway into another world-the Realm of Spirits.

The realm of spirits was overflowing with energy, which the realm’s residents used to perform magic. Magic Leaked out from the space station, and began to envelop all of Earth.

The first child with magical abilities was born in 2104. At first, magic was used as a game or hobby-enhancing daily life or being used to fight for sport. Then a large mass of crystallized magical energy was found out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in 2127.

Several Countries looking for some power source to help them power the large cities needed to help deal with overpopulation laid claim to it. Before long, a war broke it. The war quickly began to envelop the world as other countries, looking for an excuse to go to war in order to thin their population and conquer more land to better hold their large population sizes quickly joined in.

By 2133, the first nuclear bomb of the war was launched. It exploded in the sky, shot down by anti-bomb defense missiles, but the radiation mixed with the magic rain down on civilian population. Soon genetic alterations began to appear in the area-ranging from physical size differences, to new hair and eye colors appearing, to the first appearance of hermaphrodites, or Futanaris, as most called them.

Then in 2134, 30 years after the birth of the first magic wielder, magic was weapon used for war. The next year would go on to be known as 1 M.E.-The first year of the Magical Era.

After that, the war raged on for another 50 years as magic and radiation seeped into the world. Advanced experimentation into magical warfare resulted in the neutralization of traditional weaponry-battle mages could easily defend against and overpower bullets, and the physical attributes of magic wielders who enhanced their bodies with their magic were off the charts. Some of the greatest mages were even capable of blocking nukes and terraforming the world on a global scale.

The war succeeded in thinning the population-tens of billions died, and the face of the world was forever altered. Much of history was lost to the devastation-as was much of the great magic of the war-many spells closely guarded by the elite mages who made and wielded them also died with those mages.

Most of civilization collapsed as ever changing landscapes and ever-growing greed, desire, and lust caused the war to include ever smaller and more factions.

The war ended in 50 M.E. It was not ended by any official treaty, but by the deaths of the last great Arch-Mages and the world being so infected with new magical life that individuals began to band together into new communities to survive.

Now it is 414 M.E.

————-—————————-—————————

This is meant to follow the story of the world through the eyes of individual characters. You can make events and characters as you please-I will keep track of a canonical timeline and world state.

If you add a thread, please enter the character’s name, gender, country, and cannonicity for the thread. Then, at the top of the first chapter of the thread, state the name (again), gender (again), country, race, start time, and cannonicity.

Ex: Michael Voenell, M, Cannon

Michael Voenell, M, Kingdom of Riyt, Elf, 414, Cannon.

If you label your stories as non-cannon, I will approve them so long as they follow the basic starting state of the world and follow site guidelines. They may take place any time you wish.

If you label them As cannon, they must start between 414 M.E. and the current date of the timeline. I will check to make sure they fall within the lore of the world and the events of the timeline.

I fully encourage collaboration between authors, and hope to use this to build a large and detailed world and story. To any who are interested in such a thing, I invite you to join in, and feel free to DM me to ask questions. For authors just looking for a playground to make any alterations to the world regardless of others’ work, the Non-Cannon option should allow you to join in too.
