The Latex Forest

(Thank you to everyone who has decided to read Latex Forest. I am exceptionally happy to know that many people like it! I am adding more chapters in as i think of them and hope to have a wide (but not too deep) story for you to enjoy.)

Thank you to everyone who has read this story, i am cleaning up all the ends and finishing this as i feel its complete enough. I have a new story in mind though...

Sitting in your dorm room at Wargsnouts College of Magick, you have been rehearsing a complex teleport spell. Just when you think you have it right you decide to try it out. After the flash of light fades instead of appearing in the colleges quadrangle as you planned, you are.. somewhere else.

Looking around you you mutter quietly "What the- where am i?" For it is not the quadrangle you are in. Instead it appears to be a.. dark place. You look up, expecting to see the bright mid-day sun but instead see stars. Bright stars. It is night time here, but the stars alone cast enough light to easily see your surroundings.

As you look around you take in your surroundings. A tree. It appears to be completely black? And it's shiny. Tall as well. Another tree, skinny and short but also black. Walking closer you wonder if its just the starlight not showing up colours, but your robe is showing its colours just fine.

Looking up at the foliage of the tree, you see the leaves are a black rubber. Suddenly you realise the grass under your bare feet is also black and feels like rubber grass. "Where is this place?" You wonder.

Looking back up you spot a large bush and look closely. You reach up and push some branches aside to peer closer. Within its form are some rubbery vines wrapped around its branches. Some vines are moving as if to seek a better spot within the bush.

Everything is a shiny black.

"This place is too weird," You mumble. Time to get back from where ever here is.

You step back to the centre of the clearing where you landed and attempt your teleporting spell again but it just fizzles. Growing a little concerned you try a simpler spell of illumination, but its light is weak and dim, and the spell dies after only a few seconds.

"Damn it. These trees must be sucking up my power," You say to yourself.

Before you can continue, you remind yourself of just who you are.
