Link has been wandering the roads of Hyrule for a few weeks at this point, his last stop was at some inn at an unmarked town south of him. He was already running low on supplies, so he's had to ration out his current source of food. He was about one day out from a village known as Kakariko Village. That would be his first stop, at least he'd hoped it was.

It was currently midday, and not much was going on, so Link decided to stop for now and take a break somewhere off the road and set up camp. This was a good time for him to reassess his supplies and inventory, or he could do something else, such as socialize with other campsites nearby, or gather stuff from the local wildlife.
