The New Demon Lord

You feel oddly at peace as you stare into the sky. The last thing you remember is getting hit by a truck on your way to your high school. You had overslept, and rushed out the door without even so much as a good bye to your parents. 'I hope they're alright.' You think to yourself as you slowly start to drift off into the unknown. "I can't believe, I'm gonna die a virgin..." It's all you can mutter as you finally shut your eyes.

You feel like you're floating through the inky black of the afterlife before suddenly being slapped awake. "What the fuck!?" You yelp out as your eyes shoot open again before you put your right hand to your stinging cheek. There's a hearty chuckle that fills the air. You slowly turn to see a laughing old man. He has an incredible beard but that seems to be the only hair on his body. He appears to be a frail old man dressed in some sort of white robe with a golden star shaped fastener on his shoulder.

"What was that for?" You hissed out as you looked up at him with a glare. He couldn't have been more than five foot tall. You slowly rose up from the ground as you realized you were in a place devoid of any light, and color. It had no walls, ceiling, or floor. The place was just seemed to be a void. You then realized you weren't even in your body. You seemed to be made out of a blinding white light with no form. The stinging pain made your cheek feel like it's on fire. You were surprised you could even feel pain in this form, whatever the hell this form was. "I was just wakin' ya'" He said with a chuckle seeing you glare at him.

"Why did you have to slap me?" You mumble out rubbing your formless hand to your face. "It's more fun that way." He said matter of factly. "Where am I?" You question trying to change the subject as you looked around the place seeing no end to the darkness. "Purgatory." He stated as if it was the most normal thing ever. Your mind was racing as you remembered what happened. "I really am dead." You mutter, as you realize it wasn't a dream. "Yep. Sorry 'bout that." He seemed to become serious as his words left his mouth. "What for?" You asked. You were curious why the old man was apologizing.

"Ya' died far too early. Ya' weren't supposed to die for decades." He spoke in what sounded like a southern accent. He was looking extremly seriously at you. You grimaced in confusion hearing his words. 'How was he supposed to know when I die?' It was so confusing. How did he know when you were supposed to die, what exactly was this man, and what exactly did he want with you? "What are you?" You blurted out considering it was the first question that came to mind.
