The Pokemon Champion's Retirement

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP...

You attempted to open your eyes to no avail. The sun was perfectly placed in the sky to shine in your eyes through the curtains. You used your arm to block the light from the sun to give your eyes some rest. Using your other hand, you felt around for your alarm clock on your bedside table. You could feel the almighty snooze button underneath your palm. You were tempted, but, reluctantly, you pressed the off button.

You threw your blankets off of you and onto the edge of the bed, literally rolling off the mattress afterward. You stood up and moved toward your dresser. You picked out a black shirt and a pair of grey sweatpants, quickly changing into them after. You yawned and stretched from your exhaustion. You opened the curtains all the way to take in the beautiful view.

Young Rattata were pouncing on each other for fun. Pidgeys and Spearow were flying around above the trees, some fighting each other for Oran berries. This world was filled with amazing creatures. Most pokemon have stayed completely normal over thousands of years, but others have changed into human-like versions of their original evolutions. Thanks to the brilliant scientist Dr. Maple, the world found out that pokemon were evolving to become similar to the humans that would catch and train them.

You saw an anthropomorphic Arcanine burst out of the clearing, her mane extremely fluffy and breasts quite large. You could see the distress on her face as she frantically searched for something. She ran on all fours, charging through any pokemon in her way. Nothing could stop her from reaching what she considered so important. She uttered out a loud bark, its echo bouncing around the field. After a few seconds passed, a smaller response echoed around like its predecessor. The Arcanine ran toward a small bush and stopped just in front of it. She reached into the bush and pulled out a little Growlithe. She hugged what you guessed to be her child as she stood up on two legs, carrying her kid. Growlithe in hand, she disappeared back into the forest where she came.

You turned away from the dramatic scene and looked at your calendar. Your birthday was circled with a red marker, announcing the celebration's arrival with colour. But that's not right. You turned 19 just last month. This calendar was off. You unpinned the top page and let the next one fall. An adorable Furret was shown in the section that depicted the month. It had a big, cheery smile on its face, leaving you with a sense of joy in your heart.

You looked to your right and saw the poster. It was a very special poster, or at least it was important to you. It was you and your team at the pokemon league. You can remember it like it was yesterday...

You were 15 at the time. You had just beaten the elite four and the champion. Cynthia put up a fight but she was no match for your full restores- I mean, team. You walked up to the podium, with Professor Rowan meeting up with you to give you his congratulations. You were told about the perks of being the champion. Strong people will challenge you! You'll make plenty of money! They were all lies. No one ever challenged you and you made almost no money. You managed to get close with Cynthia! So that's a plus. You would flirt with each other here and there, but you never went on any type of date.

However, you and Cynthia started growing apart about a month ago. That's when you stepped down from the position of the champion. She retook the position and continued in your legacy, but you could tell she was growing a little distant from you. You didn't really know why after all, you only stepped down from the champion's position.

The reason why you couldn't continue as the champion was because you didn't make nearly enough money. It was enough to cover the essentials with a little extra, but you knew you could make more. From the age of 15, you started saving every little bit possible. It wasn't exactly fun turning down many things to save every little penny. But eventually, you managed to commission a house to be built under your authority as the champion. Sadly, that was just about all the authority you had.

Your pokemon did not enjoy the years of you being stingy, but, as soon as they saw the house they would live in, they knew it worth it in the end. They had a large room where all of them slept. Each girl had her own section of the room to customize and really make it their own. You loved them with all your heart, so of course, you had to give them the best they could have. Over 9 years, you met each one of them and trained them to be the best they could be. It was absolutely worth it. They all turned into stunning, incredibly strong, and beautiful pokemon, and they were a part of your team.

You opened your window and absorbed the fresh morning air. You knew today was going to be a good day. Nothing could ruin this absolutely wonderful day... right?
