The Sasquatch

After you lost your cozy job as a waiter you felt like such a failure as it was the perfect job for coasting into retirement. The hours were short, the workload small and the pay was great but you hated your boss as she always singled you out for staring at her tits, even though all the other employees did it too! After you got fired for stealing wine bottles (which you totally did!) you sat in the livingroom binging every show you knew AND had already seen for 12 hours straight everyday for 2 months, just trying to distract yourself from the bad feeling you got in your chest every time you thought about the state of your life until your wife came home from work.

But when your sister called you and told you your mom and dad were going to sell the family cabin, when you called them up and asked them why they just told you the cabin was quickly dropping in value as more and more stories of women hiking in the nearby forest were inexplicably dissappearing. For 6 days you called and protested to your parents and as you told them about all the good memories you and yours siblings had had at the cabin, you realised you felt more alive now than you had for the last few months combined!

Almost immediately you stopped trying to stop your parents from selling it and tried your hardest to convince them reduce the price so you could afford it. After a long discussion both your dad and mom agreed to halve the price and when you pitched the idea of buying a remote cabin to your wife she hated it and protested it with all her heart.

You always get what you want...

Like a whiny kid you acted more depressed than usual whenever your wife came home from work, you let your stubble grow out into a beard which you knew your wife hated, you tried to nudge her to want it, as you showed her you and your siblings childhood photos... photos usually taken with the beautiful cabin as a backdrop.

After three weeks you and your wife were now spending every other week at your dream cabin and with the rest at your house in the city.

You yourself loved it but... your wife absolutely hated the outdoors. She was a merciless career woman who not only owned the house but also had earned 79% of the money in your joint bank account.

She hated the smelly air and the mosquitos, the fact she could not avoid getting mud on her heels when walking to her car on those early mornings she was late for work, the loud noises in the night that woke her up and.... the long... long... long car ride back and forth from work.

You were also way too busy running maintenance on the "ancient" cabin, so much so that your sex life suffered and this week you and your wife had not had barely any intimacy which explained her rare bitchy demeanor going full time.

Life wasn't so bad back then... Its only recently the real trouble began. You think it all started on wednesday when your wife "accidentally" woke you up as she was going to work...

As your eyes switch between forcing themselves open to slowly closing you hear your wife speak to you in a sultry but soft voice reminding you of an angel as the warm blanket covering you tries to steal your consciousness away."Oh you're awake? You know... If you wake up early and do some chores now... maybe you won't be so busy later tonight... If you know what i mean..."

You respond in an equally gentle voice, almost fading in and out of sleep as you speak, "Im sorry honey... but there is just too much... that needs to be fixed..."

"Fine!" your wife's happy demeanor quickly fades away as she loudly and intentionally stomp with her feet every step out the door, grabbing her coat and car keys on her way out as the loud clacking of her high heels seemed to rattle your half woken brain enough for you to put a pillow over your head to kill the noise.

You tried crawling out of bed but the cabins cold air seemed to hurt every inch of your exposed skin and the blanket covering you seemed to radiate a warmth you hadn't felt since you were a child...

1 hour later you are woken up by a loud noise and you glance over at the clock, 7 pm.
