The new "girl"

You clutch your shoulder bag and look up at the tall, intimidation glass structure. The large blue sign over the revolving door reading "MFT". Short for Michael's & Fuller's Tech, a rather small but up and coming tech firm that mainly produced micro chips for home computers.

Even with the relatively small size they only had a few firms and so the buildings they used were large and imposing causing you to hesitate ever so slightly, checking the watch on your wrist you saw it was 7:30, a whole thirty minutes early but good for a first impression.

This is your first day at work after all, your first day even entering this firm as the interview was conducted online with a video call. You were a little surprised to get a call just over a day later informing you that you'd been given the job. You were very nervous during the interview and were sure you'd messed it up, but here you were with your new job, Assistant to the regional sales manager. A rather elaborate title for a job you figured would just be basic data entry.

Finishing off your morning coffee and placing it in a nearby bin you walk through the glass, revolving door and are met with a rather busy lobby. Men and women of various shapes, sizes and ages mill around wearing buisness suits, some sitting patiently in the waiting areas while others come and go from the elevators.

Taking the letter from you'd printed out from your bag you read the instructions telling you to sign in at reception. Walking over to a circular table in the middle of the room with a few receptionists looking busy, approaching the least occupied one you speak up with the note in hand.

"Umm excuse me, this is my first day and this letter said to sign in?" You ask a little unsure.

Your fears are pushed a little to side however as the woman in her early twenties looks up at you and smiles broadly. Pushing her glasses up her small button nose and sweeping long blonde hair over one shoulder she takes the note from you and reads it.

"Ah of course you must be Kevin Walkers ? Perfect your early so you can get shown the ropes. Let's see here..." She mumbles the last part a little to herself while typing away on the computer before looking back at you, "Right the ninth floor, I've sent an email so someone should be waiting for you, you're lucky your boss I hear is amazing!"

"They are? Great, can I... Ask who they are?"
