"I'm sorry, Thera. But we've got to cut a few people, and you're one of them," Dr. Stanley sounded remorseful as he delivered Thera Johnson the devastating news. She was fired. With just three days left to pay her $600 rent, she had no job. All she needed was $250 more, but it seemed that wasn't going to happen.
As she walked glumly down the street, she saw a nightclub. It was looking really bad for her. Suddenly, a car pulled up. "Hey, hot stuff. Saw you standing there, and was wondering if you'd like to make a few bucks?" the window rolled down, revealing a nervous-looking older man. "I'm Jim, and I'd like to party, if you know what I mean. I'll pay you twenty bucks for a couple of hours."
Thera thought about it for a moment. Twenty bucks wasn't much, but she really could use the money. But could she really do that kind of thing?
