To the Dean's Office

You broke the rules. You violated the Student Code of Conduct. Worst of all, you got caught, and now you must face justice.

Looking around at the rolling hills of rural Connecticut you take one last deep breath before entering into the Neocolonial brick administration building of Cambria College. Shuffling your feet like a condemned prisoner you make your way up a marble staircase to the second floor to stand before a large mahogany door behind which your fate will be decided.

With your stomach turning, you go to knock, but your hand momentarily falters as you read the ancient, though well polished, brass plate proclaiming "Associate Dean of Student Discipline." Even more troubling is the shiny new plate below the older one, announcing the chamber's most current occupant, "Dr. Sarah Dodd van Laar."

The new dean is a former Assistant Professor of Classics and European Languages who received her rather dramatic promotion but a week ago following the "Stanton Scandal" which cost the college thousands in donations. Though only in her thirties, Professor van Laar, is known for her organizational skills, conservative and uncompromising ways, and thus was the logical choice of the Board of Trustees.

Your fellow students, however, do not share the faculty's appreciation for the new Associate Dean. Being one of the toughest graders on campus, coupled with her well endowed figure that seems at variance with her strict traditional demeanor, has brought Ms. van Laar much indignation and jesting behind back. "Professor Hard-Ass" is a common nickname, while many of the female students from her Spanish classes have taken to calling her "Srta. Vaca", or "Ms. Cow," a rather poor word play on "Sarah van Laar." The more juvenile males simply dropped the "o" from her middle name and joke about "Doctor Sarah 'Triple D' van Laar," or just "Triple D" for short.

You, however, have the unique distinction of being the new Dean's first disciplinary case. Steeling your resolve you knock on the door.

A cold, commanding, yet still feminine voice responds, "Yes, who is it?"
