Truth or dare.

You are sitting at home quietly for the weekend. With your parents gone, and no one to hang out with, you spend your Friday night completing a load of homework. As you finish another tedious math worksheet, your iPhone buzzes. You slide the answer button and hear your mom on the other end. “Honey? Are you doing your school work?” She says. “Yes, Mom,” you reply while rolling your eyes. She never lets you do anything fun. “Alright! Be good! And no parties, you hear me, John?” “Alright.” You say as you press the red end button. You desperately wanted to see a girl this weekend, and since your parents have strict rules on dating, you have to use any opportunity. It doesn't matter anyways, you think to yourself. Maya is having a sleepover with her friends tonight and you wouldn't get to see her even if she wanted to. You reluctantly power through your assigned English chapters, at which point, your phone rings again. you sigh. “Mom, I'm trying to do homework!!” You shout aloud before answering with a grimace. Except this time, you hear giggling in the background. “Hello?” you ask inquisitively. The speech coming from the other end is hard to make out, but every know and then you hear “No I can't!”, and “No he doesn't know.” Thinking it is a prank call, your stretch your thumb to the end button, but a much clearer voice stops you from hanging up. “Hey, John, it's me, Maya.” you hear from the speaker. “Maya? I thought you were having a party?” you reply. “Umm... Well can you just come over?” Maya says eagerly. “I'm supposed to stay and watch the house, so I'm not sure,” you say sadly. “Please?” Maya begs. “It would be so much more fun!”
