Before we begin, lets get to know the main players here: (You can skip to the bottom if you want to start the story)

Julie Walters: Our protagonist. She was held back a year in high school for disobeying school rules too many times, and was expelled for lying to the teacher to protect her friend from being sent to prison. She is now starting her senior year at a new high school, and is already 18 years old. She is EXTREMELY far-sighted, which means that without her glasses, she can't see anything within 20ft of her, but can see further somewhat clearly.

Harriet Walters: Julie's mother. A pragmatic woman, she tries to raise her only child as best she can by herself. She doesn't believe anything her daughter says anymore due to her expulsion from school. She just wants Julie to become a nice, upstanding citizen, and hopes it will happen before she graduates.

Mary Rhodes: Captain of the cheer squad, she is one of the few that know of Julie's secret. She acts like her friend, but secretly is out to embarrass her every chance she gets, and is able to get her other friends involved.

Serena Shepard: Mary's best friend, and another who knows of Julie's secret. She and Mary devise plans to embarrass Julie and often manipulate her and their friends to see their plan through.

Principal Wells: A woman in her sixties, she tries to carry herself as someone of power that demands respect of the students, but she is vulnerable when she sees a child in need of help or care. This leads her to inflict harsh punishments on those who pick on the weak, which spells trouble for Julie.
