Uncontrollable Urges

Maybe it was the fish he ate last night, but John felt terrible, his stomach growled at him all the way from the moment he stepped outside his house. But as he stepped through the double doors to his company, Solar Dragon Inc., he knew he may end up having to go home from food sickness. He walked over to his department in the east section of the building, a sign above the door stated his job description perfectly with only two words...'CHEMICAL DISPOSAL'. John would sigh for a moment before grabbing his things and walking through the door. Granted, the job payed well, but this clearly wasn't the job he wanted. He'd worked with chemicals many times before, top of his class in alchemical science and bio engineering. Yet when he applied, they stuck him in one of the worst dead end jobs in the world.

"Hey John! You look exhausted, rough night?" John put his index finger and thumb against his eyes and rubbed them before looking up to see Dana, one of John's coworkers. She was John's age and stood at about 6'4" with dirty blonde hair and shining green eyes, with a DD bust and hips to match. She was one of the lead researchers in her department, and her cheery attitude towards everyone seemed to brighten the room. But of all the people she'd talk to in the entire building, she always came to talk to John. He could never figure out why. They'd been great friends, for sure...yet he always thought that she would have just stopped talking to him after a while.

"Uhh, yeah. Had another nightmare last night, kept me up the entire time, but you know...I haven't passed out yet, so that's gotta be a good sign."

She laughed. John couldn't tell if she was laughing AT him or with him, but at this point, he couldn't care less. Yet, Dana tried to keep his attention as she messed with a pen in her fingers. "Hey uhh, listen. I was wondering if..." Her voice trailed off as she seemed to lose focus on the world. John would hold up his hand in front of her face and snap his fingers a few times, hoping to snap her out of her daze. She straightened to attention and shook her head with a warm smile. "Oh! Nevermind, sorry. Uhh anyways, it was good seeing you! I gotta get back to work."

John would shrug and give his best casual smile as he passed her by on his way to his disposal space. "Yeah, you too."
