I graduated from college two years ago, at the time, many of my friends applied for masters and some others applied for jobs with tech companies and big corporates, a few took a break to travel the world. When asked what my plans were, I told people that I was intereseted in civil service. I was always interested in becoming a cop.
What they didn't know was just a few weeks ago I had seen a tray in the career center marked "FBI HIRING GRADUATES. PLACE CV HERE." The tray had hundreds of cvs. Feeling a little foolish, I had placed my CV at the bottom of the pile. And a few days after that I had received a call from a man named Kyle. He said he was a recruiter at the FBI and that he was interested in my application. I could hardly belive they had picked me out of all those applications!
Back to the present day, it's my second year at the FBI and the life of a cop wasn't as glamorous as I had seen in the movies. As a junior officer in my twenties, I was bound to paper work full time, writing reports, doing research and background checks on potential suspects.
It was a cold morning in DC, I was going over some reports when my desk phone buzzed.
"Hey Lara, can you come on up to my office please?" It was Kate Williams, the director of our department.
