When Worlds Collide

It had been several months since the creatures from the other world had started migrating here. There had been some issues at first, and some others were still resolving. But they brought with them business, jobs and labour, the other world had not progressed in the last 500 years anywhere near as much as our and so they weren’t really a threat to the working class. But their presence brought new customers, customers willing to try new foods, and new experiences.

All and all it had been a fairly peaceful meeting of the various peoples. The various species from over there had long since learnt to live and work together and they brought that desire with them.

Steve was playing X-Box when Jan came into the room, a glass of wine in one hand and the latest Cosmo mag in the other. Her blouse was half undone after work, as she was taking some time to unwind before dinner. “Steve, look at this.”

It was a few moments before Steve stopped and Jan sat down beside him. “Apparently there is this craze of women bedding these fantasy creatures.”

“What?” Steve drops his controller and takes the magazine from his fiancé, quickly skimming the article before handing it back.

“Isn’t that incredible? How would you even find one of them.” Jan exclaimed while taking a mouthful of wine.

“Umm,” Steve said picking his controller back up, “I guess you didn’t see our neighbours moving in?”

Jan looks at him quizzically, “Yeah, two days ago, didn’t seem to bring much with them. Three of them, you know those, half horse creatures.”

“Centaurs, we have centaurs living beside us.” Jan exclaims excitedly. “We should go introduce ourselves. Do we have anything to take as a welcome to the neighbourhood gift?"

“Wine I suppose, but why, we don’t normally introduce ourselves to our neighbours?” Steve unpaused his game and promptly died. “Damn.” He exclaimed.

“These Mythfolk have come from another world, the least we can do is make them feel welcome.” Jan gave Steve her best puppy dog eyes.

“Oh alright, we can go introduce ourselves. Should we take red or white?” He wasn’t actually annoyed, and was kinds curious himself but he really just wanted a quiet night with a few games to unwind after work. The last couple of weeks had been busy in his accounting firm.

“One of each, in case they don’t drink red or white.” Jan suggested as she started to do the buttons of her blouse back up, the fabric pulled taught across her chest. It was hard for Jan to find shirts that fit well with breasts as large as hers.
