**Author's note**
This is my first foray into the world of superheroines/superheroes so please if you have any suggestions or criticisms feel free to leave them a comment. Also please feel free to add to the story if you like. Also, while I absolutely love Gal Gadot, for me, Lynda Carter will always be 'Wonder Woman' in my eyes!
The courtroom was packed. TV news crews from all over the world had descended upon the city of New York to cover this historic event. The most famous and powerful superheroine to be captured, tried and convicted under the new anti-vigilante laws that were passed by the United States Supreme Court 4 years earlier. Another ruling handed down by the same court a year later determined that superheroes/heroines were neither considered human nor animal, therefore they were not protected by the constitution and in effect had no rights. A hush came over the courtroom as the side doors open and Diana was led in shackles into the courtroom accompanied by at least 10 police officers. Still wearing her famous uniform, her hands were bound tightly together behind her back by 4 inch thick steel cuffs, similarly, her legs were cuffed by equally 4 inch thick steel leg cuffs. Placed around her neck was a steel collar called the inhibitor. This collar had the ability to neutralize any and all of a superheroine's strengths and abilities. It also forced any superheroine, when captured in their alias, to automatically reveal their true identity. That is what happened to Diana when after she had just returned home from busting another of Catwoman's plots and ended up killing 14 of her henchman in the process of apprehending her, police and US Marshalls, acting on a tip smashed through her apartment door. 4 officers held her down while another quickly fastened the collar around her neck. A brilliant flash of blinding light filled the room as Wonder Woman now appeared. Being helpless despite having her magic belt and golden lasso, she was easily taken into custody.
"All Rise!" came the order from the bailiff. "The 9th circuit of the superior court of the state of New York is now in session. The honorable Edward R. Bailey presiding." said the bailiff. "Thank you, you may all be seated." Everyone took their seats as the judge continued. "The defendant will now rise and face the bench." Diana somberly stood up, keeping her head down. "Diana, Princess of Thermyscia, aka Diana Prinze, aka Wonder Woman you have been tried and convicted of 14 counts of homicide, 14 counts of administering vigilante justice and 2 counts of willful destruction of property. Before this court pronounces sentence, do you have anything to say?" asked the judge "No." Wonder Woman said flatly. "Very well then. It is the decision of this court that you hereby be sentenced to spend the remainder of your natural life in confinement at the supermaximum security at Sisika Penitentary. That is all, this court is adjourned."
Wonder Woman was immediately led back through the same doorway down the hall which wrapped around to the back of the courthouse and through a small door leading outside were a large black van was waiting surrounded by at least a half a dozen police cars. The back of the van was opened and she was herded in and placed in the back seat where she was quickly belted in. Her leg Irons were fastened to two steel rings right next to her ankles. The journey took about 4 hours before they finally arrived at the dock where a boat was waiting for them along with about 20 guards. After an exchange of paperwork she was handed off to the custody of the guards for a short ride to her new home.
