You looked at the imposing building before you. There was a new drive for colonization of Terra-2, a utopian Earth-like world under the control of the company, and the spaces had become very limited. You knew there was a certain risk, and that by signing the legally binding document you gave the company authorization for mental and body modifications as they saw fit to assure you were ready for your new position on Terra-2's society, but with how Earth was doing, it wasn't much of a question as you put your signature in the required space.

You were quickly notified you had been accepted, and a request to return to the building at a set time to prepare for the journey ahead, and the possible changes your body would face.

You got a quick introductory course on Terra-2's society and how it functioned, as well as a guide on the possible changes you could face. You hadn't quite realized how far the permits went, but thanks to the guide you learnt that even your gender could be changed, and your IQ and memories tweaked with, along with impulses and a variety of other factors. You gulped as you realized what could happen, but it was too late, they already had the document safely stored, and part of you still wanted to go, in face of all the possibilities.

After the introduction you were given a few days to say goodbye before your scheduled journey, during which you would be in a company pod, where the changes occurred.

On launch day, before leaving for the launch site, you got one last look on the mirror, aware it was likely the last time you would see yourself in your current body.
